About The Committee

Chair – Trevor

Trevor has been chair now for so long we can’t remember… but he’s a leader! His passion is glam and sparkly and he loves to try and top each year’s amount of glitter balls! Trevor’s favourite word on Pride day is wow….

Secretary – Cath

Cath is the one charged with note taking and arranging the committee and partner meetings. She also looks after us all with tea and biscuits and the occasional heap of sweets to see us through the long, long Monday night meetings that start in September and only break for a few weeks around Christmas.

Stage Manager – Annette

Annette is a magician. She makes the stage line up appear at the last minute and always within budget…. We don’t even know how but rumour has it agents fear the call! She rules the backstage and makes sure the stage runs to time and the change over’s are quick and slick.

Sound and Stage Technician – Bo

The one with the beard that’s on stage more than anyone else! He is married to Annette so basically does as he’s told! He plugs things in and listens to stuff and moves mics and instruments around and does a fantastic job making sure even the odd dodgy vocal sounds good. He also sings a bit too… lead singer of Tobias who have performed at all 3 Prides to date.

Hospitality – Richard

Richard joined Pride in 2008 and we don’t remember how we managed before. He works with many of our local hotels and retailers who supply to Pride. On Pride day he looks after our backstage area, making sure our acts and VIP’s are well fed and watered, and is never far from the kitchen and the wine….

Website and Markets - Michael

Michael makes the website work…uploads and fiddles about with stuff. When he’s not doing this he also co-ordinates the market, sending out info and booking the stalls and liaising with all the stall holders.
Exhibition Hall events – Mike

With the growth of Pride we now have another area to manage with the Exhibition Hall and Mike got the job. He’s working with retailers to put on a fashion show, bridal fair management to host our Civil Partnership event and well whatever else we throw his way.

It’s a new bit of Pride so he’s got a lot to tackle so has a sidekick…..
Matthew

Our newest and youngest member of the committee and giving us olds a younger perspective. Matthew will also be modelling on the day, singing and being photographed for the calendar competition…. Is there no end to this lad’s talent?

Funding co-ordinator – Adam

Adam is this year assisting with the funding as well as supporting Michael with website and markets work. He also provides support to anyone of the team as and when he can.  Adam will also be doing the hair and beauty for this year’s fashion show models.
DJ and stage – Wayne

Pride DJ and wearer of the tightest hot pants in the West… Wayne is already working on this year’s outfits and there’s bound to be a kilt or PVC in there somewhere. Wayne is one half of the presentation team, ably supported by our own Miss Penny.

Photography – John

Our very own photographer, John is working on the Pride Calendar as well as backstage on the day capturing the essence of Pride 2010.

The committee would also like to mention our regular helpers and “Pride Widows”…. Matt for his assistance with the programme, Kev for assisting with photography and the calendar and Alison for supporting the effort year round and for all the hours she spends listening to Jen going on… and on…. and on…..

Finally thanks to our volunteers…
